Where have we been with Miss Sophie’s?

We recently had a fun trip to the National Maritime Museum. An excited group of 5 and 6 year olds travelled to Greenwich by boat to learn more about life at sea. There we travelled the large atlas and visited 20 different countries, taking 2 years and 152 days and travelling over 14,0000 nautical miles. The interactive ipad’s gave us an insight into each country, and we played games to test our knowledge on the continents and oceans.  The children were amazed at the size of the globe!

The group enjoyed visiting the Nelson Gallery and discovering more about this famous Admiral. They came away with facts about The Battle of Trafalgar, Napoleon and Nelson.

The National Maritime Museum is an all time favourite for Miss Sophie’s days out; incorporating both History and Geography into an interactive and hands on learning experience.
